Meet Simeon Norris and his great big smile! In October, Mr. Norris suffered a sudden cardiac arrest at home at 3 a.m. Due to the quick thinking of his family to call 911, his wife initiating CPR at the directions of the ESD dispatcher, a fast response time, excellent medical care, and critical help from our Harris County ESD 16 - Klein Fire Department partners, we celebrated his recovery today!

We reunited Mr. Norris and his family with his "lifesavers," his words, not ours. We are very grateful for his recovery and the excellent job performed by everyone that allowed this wonderful day to happen!

** you were missed and played a critical role in this outcome. We should never forget the dispatchers!

I’m so thankful for everyone who played a role in saving my husband’s life even though I didn’t meet Melissa the dispatcher she played a major role in talking me through doing CPR and keeping me calm until EMT arrived. I learned CPR and never thought after 15 years of being aCNA I would have to perform CPR on my husband. So I’ll say this to anyone who doesn’t know CPR LEARN IT YOU COULD HELP SAVE SOMEONES LIFE.

I am extremely grateful for everyone that played a part in my life being saved. Again I want to thank everyone and I hope everyone holidays be filled with love, joy, and happiness and a dash of great memories being created.

WTG Melissa Grindstaff!!!! Proud of you.

Celebrating a "saved life" is the goal and dream of every First Responder. Yesterday, we were able to do just that. Due to the quick actions of Precinct 4 Corporal Dennis Cowan, Officer Joe Wooley, ESD 11 Dispatcher, and Medics, Matt Oliver (patient) and his family could join us for his "Save Reunion."

Recently, Matt suffered a sudden airway blockage, resulting in cardiac arrest. Without the quick actions of Matt's girlfriend and all parties involved, the event could have resulted in a tragic outcome. However, due to their swift recognition of the problem, a short response time, and excellent medical care, we are happy to report that Matt is on the mend to a full recovery!

We want to point out that Corporal Cowan is also a Paramedic and his training played a critical role in the outcome!

Great job to everyone for making a difference!

It's a wrap. A big "thank you" to Gillian and Eddy Tessier and the Logistics team for taking on the task of serving a Thanksgiving meal for our crews today!

Also, a big shout-out to everyone who brought items for the potluck. The crews will eat well all weekend.....
