On Friday, October 6, 2017 at approximately 8:30 pm Cypress Creek made EMS history as the first ground EMS system in the country to transfuse whole blood in the field into a trauma patient. Field Supervisor Theresa Jackson brought the blood to the scene and performed the transfusion working with the crew of Medic 528 to save the life of a gunshot victim. Between the whole blood program and our Stop The Bleed training for police, firefighters, and the public our goal is to reduce deaths due to severe hemorrhage caused by trauma and medical conditions. The specialized medical grade equipment we use to keep the blood at the correct temperature was provided by Emergency Services District 11. Your tax dollars at work saving lives.

There are only two civilian agencies in the country carrying whole blood in the field 24/7/365….Cypress Creek EMS and our partner in the program ESD 48 Fire Department. On Friday, September 29, 2017, ESD 48 had the first whole blood transfusion to a patient bleeding due to a medical condition.

  1. Have you ever considered about adding a little bit more than just your articles?
I mean, what you say is fundamental and all. However think about if you added some great visuals or video clips to give
your posts more, “pop”! Your content is excellent but with images
and video clips, this site could undeniably be one of the greatest in its field.
    Great blog!
